Kent Carter

Kent Carter is a board-certified pediatrician who joined Parsi Pediatrics in 2025. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. He went on to teach high school for several years in Philadelphia and Chicago and earned a Master of Science in Education from Northwestern University in 2010. After deciding to change careers, he attended Texas Tech University Paul Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, graduating in 2017. He then completed his pediatric residency training at UT Health Science Center San Antonio, graduating in 2020. In 2021, he joined the faculty of UT Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine, where he served as the pediatric clerkship director until 2024. He then returned to San Antonio, and he joined Parsi Pediatrics in 2025.

Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Carter received the Gold Headed Cane Award, selected jointly by students and faculty as the individual who best exemplifies those attributes that are most desirable in the competent and caring physician. During his residency at UTHSCSA, he was named Best Third Year Pediatric Resident, and he was chosen by medical students as the Best Teaching Pediatric Resident all three years of his residency. In 2022, he was chosen by UTRGV medical students as Best Teaching Pediatric Faculty.

Dr. Carter now lives in San Antonio with his partner, who is also a pediatrician. The two enjoy traveling and on weekends, they can often be found at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema enjoying the latest films.
