Sareh P Cavazos
Dr. Sareh Cavazos is a board-certified pediatrician who joined Parsi Pediatrics in 2021. After receiving her Bachelors of Science at Texas A&M University, in College Station, she attended the prestigious Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City where she received her Masters of Science in Human Nutrition. She then returned to Texas and attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, School of Medicine in Lubbock. After completing medical school she moved back to her hometown of San Antonio to complete her pediatric residency training at UT Health San Antonio and did a further six months of fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology.
Dr. Cavazos is passionate about pediatric medicine with a further focus on infant and childhood nutrition obesity. During her nutrition training at Columbia University, she completed her thesis on glycosylated gluten proteins and increased immunogenicity in celiac disease through the world-renowned Celiac Disease Center, Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. After returning to Texas, she volunteered as a nutrition educator at the North Texas Food Bank where she taught nutrition classes and cooking lessons through the Cooking Matters Program in inner city Dallas. During her Pediatric Endocrine fellowship training she further studied pediatric obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, lipoid disorders, growth disorders, thyroid and adrenal disease.
She has received many awards for her teaching in nutrition and academic excellence including the Rising Star Award for her volunteer efforts through the North Texas Food Bank, Medical Student of the Year from the Department of Pediatrics at Texas Tech School of Medicine, and 2nd year Resident of the Year Award at UT Health San Antonio.
She is happily married to her high school sweetheart and enjoys spending her free time with her two children. She loves visiting the San Antonio city parks, running, and hiking with her family and dogs and loves creating and baking gluten free recipes.
