Developmental screenings are part of every well child check-up and are vital to the detection of developmental differences and delays. Early detection is key in order to give each child the needed resources and support.
Specific screenings for your child’s fine and gross motor skills, language skills and personal-social skills occur throughout the first 5 years and specific Autism screening begins at 18 months. If any developmental delays are detected, your Pediatrician will prompt swift referrals to the appropriate therapies and any testing which may be needed (for example: hearing screening).
